Almost Home Chicago - Our aspiration is to be the hands and feet and voice of hope by providing food, clothing, shelter, jobs, and love to those who need it most.
We were able to be a part of making the baskets, donating items and drop them off at the facility.
United Way of Metro Chicago - Medical Respite Center provides 24/7 medical care in partnership with Cook County Health, which supervises all aspects of medical care and oversee to ensure each client’s recuperation. Housing Forward provides accommodations and three meals a day for up to 19 individuals. We also provide case management to assist clients in creating a plan for their post-respite housing and then connecting them to the resources they need to succeed. Our hotel-based interim housing was launched in response to the COVID-19 crisis and is intended for individuals and small families with minor children. This three-floor facility includes 55 living spaces, community spaces, and on-site structured programming. This program has proven to be a very successful program to keep clients in a stable situation while the organization helps them transition to long-term stable housing. Both programs are located at 211 N. Oak Park Ave., in what was formerly the Write Inn. We donated cleaning to wash the cargo vans used to transport the children. We washed the outside and cleaned the inside of 4 vans. By The Hand is an after-school program that takes kids by the hand and walks with them from kindergarten through college, loving and nurturing them—mind, body and soul. Helping children who live in under-resourced neighborhoods have abundant life.
